These are the Munich Surfskate Community rules:
- Everyone is welcome! :-)
- No politics, no ideologies,no racism, no sexism, no misogyny, no ableism, no ageism and also please no spam and no commercial content.
- Surfskate München was created by passionate surfskaters and volunteers who enjoy skating with others, but have realized that it's not neccessarily super easy to get together in Munich...
- In our Signal group/WhatsApp community, you are more than welcome to introduce yourself (can be long or brief), but you don't have to.
- Use of both German and English are perfectly fine, and you can obviously try other languages as well and see what happens...;-)
- Surfskate München events are generally not formal lessons; everyone participates at their own individual risk; event organizers will not be held liable for any injuries, damage to/loss of equipment etc.
- If there are formal lessons, which might be offered by e.g. a surfskate coach, then this will be specifically announced for individual events, including possible content, conditions, pricing etc.
- During surfskate sessions/gatherings/events, all participants are free to do what they want when they want if they want; nothing is mandatory; everyone is free to join and leave whenever they wish.
- Use of protective gear (helmet, knee-pads, elbow-pads, wrist-guards etc is strongly encouraged, but will not be enforced in any way; please see #2, everyone is responsible for themselves.
- Surfskate München events are generally not meant to be competitions in any way! The overall goal is to enjoy each other's company, support and help each other, and celebrate your own and everyone else's achievements, and have fun as a group!
- Everyone is on their own path of progressing in surfskating/skateboarding. Please respect if someone is taking an approach which is different to your own. Be mindful and maybe ask if others are interested in your opinion and if they would like to have your assistance.
- At the core of skateboarding/surfskating, everyone usually finds the trinity of trial, failure and success... ;-) It's about self-expression, try to find your way, your flow. Overthinking hardly ever got anyone anywhere. :-D
- Respect the environment! Do not litter and leave skateparks/skate spots in the same or a better state than you have found them.
- Everyone can participate in Surfskate München events/gatherings/sessions free of charge. As stated above, if the group decides to invite e.g. a coach, then for participants of such sessions, there might be (small) costs involved, which will be announced ahead of time.
- If you are a beginner and don't have any equipment (yet), please let the group know ahead of time, someone might have extra stuff to borrow; please be mindful of such opportunities, if surfskating starts to turn into a long-time commitment for you, the group will be happy to help you to find your own equipment which suits you best.
- For the time being, potential dates for sessions/gatherings/events will be announced via Signal/WhatsApp, but most of the scheduling will be done cooperatively by the group as a whole.
- These rules might be updated and/or expanded from time to time. Any changes will be announced.
